The Problem: Cracked Asphalt and Poor Drainage

The original rear roadway had several issues:

Over time, even small cracks and dips in the pavement can lead to bigger problems. Water that doesn’t drain properly can damage the foundation, cause erosion, or freeze in the winter and create safety hazards.

The solution (as proposed by a third party engineering firm) is toremove and replace the entire section, not just patch it.

The Solution: Full Asphalt Removal and Replacement

Our team removed the existing asphalt down to the base layer. Then we rebuilt the entire road using a two-layer process:

1. Base Layer of Asphalt: This layer provides strength and stability.

2. Top Layer of Asphalt: This gives the road a smooth, clean finish that's built to last.

We also regraded the slope of the road to ensure proper drainage. The new design directs water from the crown of the roadway down into the french curbs and into the catch basin, just as it should. With this improvement, residents don’t need to worry about water pooling or getting in between the curb and their driveways anymore.
